Marika Krevata
Marika Krevata (Greek: Μαρίκα Κρεβατά, Athens 12 June 1910 – 14 September 1994) was a Greek stage and film actress.
She was the daughter of Stamatis Krevatas (a musician) and Sofia (also an actress - in Constantinople, née Panteliadis). She appeared in the theater from a very early age, mostly so that she would not be left alone at home. At first, she took part in troupes that toured the Greek countryside and in children's performances such as in "Daskalitsa" by Nicontemi alongs
ide Marika Kotopouli. Later, she appeared in the operetta troupe of Georgios Xydis, but her first truly professional appearance was in the troupe of Rosalia Nika.
Her artistic recognition was rapid. After some more tours of troupes such as those of Manos Filippidis, her name became known in the musical theaters of Athens at the time, eventually performing Eva in the operetta of the same name by Franz Lehar.
In the early 1930s, she met Angelos Mavropoulos, the protagonist of the operetta, whom she divorced just three months after her marriage, while six months later she gave birth to the later well-known actress Gelly Mavropoulos. She was then married to fellow actor George Gavriilidis, both in life and in art.
